Rufus King, a partner in the firm's Corporate and Private Equity Groups, concentrates in corporate, partnership and securities law. He joined Goodwin Procter in 2005.

Work for Clients

Mr. King represents venture capital and other private equity funds, both in fund organization and in investment transactions. He has also represented public and private high-technology companies in all aspects of corporate operation and development. Mr. King has acted as issuers’ and underwriters’ counsel in public offerings.

Mr. King represents a wide range of private investment funds, both in the United States and internationally. His clients include prominent venture capital, buyout and mezzanine funds. Mr. King has successfully represented first-time funds, as well as large financial institutions and corporations creating in-house private equity programs and employee funds. His clients’ locations range from Massachusetts to Florida, and from New York to California; as well as France, Netherlands, UK and Israel.

Mr. King has successfully completed more than 50 fund formation projects since 1986, in both difficult and favorable fund-raising environments. He represents a select group of investors in private equity funds, both governmental and private, in the United States and internationally.

Mr. King has also assisted operating companies from inception, through initial public offerings, to public-to-public mergers.
