Allison Friend is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Goodwin Procter. In this role, Ms. Friend is responsible for developing and implementing a firmwide human resources strategy for the firm’s lawyers, paralegals and support staff. She works closely with the firm’s Management and Executive Committees to maintain a superior organizational support structure, while leveraging the many talents of Goodwin Procter’s administrative directors and bringing new resources to various firmwide initiatives.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter as its first Chief Human Resources Officer in 2004, Ms. Friend served as corporate counsel for the employment law group at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and, most recently, the manager of human resources for Liberty Mutual’s National Group Market business unit. Before joining Liberty Mutual, Ms. Friend was an associate in Goodwin Procter’s Labor & Employment Practice, where she worked with a broad range of clients on various legal issues that govern all aspects of the employment relationship. She received her J.D. from The George Washington University National Law Center and an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
